Here is a video if me working on the feet of a pot that I recently threw.
Thanks to the Goldmark Gallery for this great feature on Phil working towards his current exhibition at the gallery. I love Phil’s work and have a piece in my collection.
After a year my kiln has finally been connected and is back in action and it had its maiden firing the other day in its new, and hopefully final, resting place in our new house.
I was really pleased with the outcome and there was some nice Shohin pots that came out of the mix with a portion of the ware in porcelain.
Some of you may know my normal website http://www.stonemonkeyceramics.co.uk is currently being “Made Over” and in the not too distant future my new website will be going live with some of the new pots that I have made up for sale. Fingers crossed some of the new colours and styles of pots will net me a place and the next Noelanders Trophy, nothing confirmed till the end of the year, and I will get back into my groove of selling my wares.
Well in the past 10 years I have moved my pottery workshop a fair few times and now that my good lady and I have bought a house I have decided to set up shop permanently in the garage. At the moment I am in a wooden shed at the bottom of the garden. It does it’s job but it leaks like a tea strainer and is rotting at a pretty fast rate of knots.
So rather than building a new one from scratch Marie has said I can have the garage as my pottery, hooray! The kilns are already in the garage and I have just laid 22 meters of armoured cable from the main fuse box to the garage fuse box
